Stanley Donwood, an artist who frequently lends his talents to the cover and poster art for Radiohead, has created a poster designed in support of Occupy Wall Street.
The poster is accompanied by this note from the artist:
As the mendacity of the One Per Cent continues, here is a small tool which you may download, blow up, paste, copy, pass on, and do whatever with. I’m not sure where the quote is from; I saw it on a poster at Occupy Sheffield last week, where they thought that the words were possibly from a former Prime Minister of Canada.
I myself went looking for the source of this quote and I have seen it questionably attributed to Lester B. Pearson (indeed a former PM of Canada) and also to a murky character called B. Lester, and also, of course, to Jon Stewart. Who knows where the original quote is from.
